In today’s world of contemporary society, we have many cartels and monopolies, but the one, which stands out for being the most profitable, most effective, and most powerful is the one involving oil.

This is the main reason why oil prices continues to escalate in the market area. On a global basis, this high-pricing of oil is considered as a worldwide dilemma.

Hence, in order to cut down extra cost in gas or fuel consumption and have a better gas mileage, it is a must for every driver to understand and employ the different ways on how to maximize their fuel consumption with a lower cost so as to achieve a better gas mileage. Here’s how:

What To Know If You Are In The Market For A New Car
 by: John Rivers

If you are in the midst of shopping for a new car then you need to know what you are doing. If you don’t take the time to learn the ins and outs of buying a new car you are going to get taken for a ride, an expensive one.

Here are the top tips to make sure that you get a deal on your new car:

Find out what kind of car you are looking for

If you walk onto the lots with a clear idea of what you are looking for, you will be much less likely to get talked into a more expensive car. All of the car salesmen are going to be trying to get you to spend as much money as possible, that is what makes them the big bucks so keep that in mind. Know what you want and go for it and that is all. Don’t look around and let yourself get too tempted by other cars or vans that you know you cannot afford.

The 1969 Plymouth Road Runner

The 1969 Plymouth Road Runner
 by: Jason Tarasi

The Road Runner line was first produced by Plymouth in 1968 with a back-to-basics strategic approach aimed at making muscle cars more affordable for the average Joe rather than having them remain fully-loaded, luxury cars that few could afford. As a result, Road Runners were targeted to a different market. Even though they were downgraded some compared to other muscle cars of their time, the 1969 Plymouth Road Runner made record sales for Plymouth and became one of the top-five muscle cars in existence in terms of best sellers.

If I had to describe Plymouth’s 1968 release of the Road Runner in one word, that word would be - unique. In fact, the ‘68 model was incredibly unique because its body design was based on the luxury Belvedere with a pillared coupe style. It actually sported a cartoon character - Warner Brother’s road runner - as décor and a “cute” beeping horn that complemented the unusual, but popular image.

Reviving the Blackwood
 by: Carol Mitchel

This vehicle was sold in 2002 only. In fact, it is one of the most short-lived vehicles in the automobile industry. The Lincoln Blackwood is a luxury pickup truck that has been manufactured and introduced under the Ford Motor Company’s Lincoln brand. And all due to its short lifespan, this vehicle has been known and considered as one of the most spectacular failures in the automotive industry.

In its history the Lincoln Blackwood has been considered as another version of the Ford F-150 Crew Cab pickup truck. The difference, though, between the two is that the Lincoln Blackwood is trimmed and accessorized with luxury. During its one year lifespan, the Lincoln Blackwood was made available with a black exterior and a black interior. The bed of the truck was made over to serve as a trunk. This was done so by adding in a power tonneau and plush carpeting. As per the exterior of the truck bed, it featured aluminum pinstripes over artificial burled black wood.

Ford Aerostar: Taking Care of the Competition
 by: Jason Moore

Living for just a little over a decade, the Aerostar is a minivan that was crafted and sold under the umbrella of the Ford Motor Company. It is a rear wheel drive minivan that can be easily distinguished from the other minivans. It is quite something for it utilized a modified pickup truck chassis for its body. Compared to the Ford Taurus, the Ford Aerostar looks very similar. One interesting fact is that the Ford Taurus and the Ford Aerostar were introduced by the automobile company the same year. In 1990, this minivan was given the Motor Trend magazine’s Truck of the Year award.

In 1992, the Ford Aerostar was on its way to success. Production was excellent, thus gaining another award for the assembly plant of the vehicle. The Q-1 status award was bagged by the plant and this award is considered as a very prestigious certificate. As per the humble beginnings of the Ford Aerostar, this vehicle actually came into being when Ford decided to compete with Chrysler. Chrysler has dominated the minivan category that time and Ford wanted to take a piece of the action. The original Ford Aerostar was introduced bearing a 2.3 liter engine that had 4 cylinders. It had the capacity to produce 88 horsepower. Of course, through the Ford Aerostar’s lifespan, this has also been changed and upgraded. It also had the capacity to take in a maximum standard passenger capacity of five people.

MP3s on the Road: 3 Ways to Play your MP3s in your Car

MP3s on the Road: 3 Ways to Play your MP3s in your Car
 by: Dwayne Wright

Let’s face it, by now who doesn’t own some sort of MP3 player? Whether it is an IPOD or a less popular MP3 player made by manufacturers such as Sony or Creative Labs, everyone that I know has an MP3 player (except for my grandmother, who still doesn’t know what an MP3 is anyway). Regardless of the brand, to be able to use any type of MP3 player, you must have MP3s to upload and listen to on your MP3 player. That being the case, many people prefer purchasing single MP3s from sites like iTunes and Napster versus paying ten dollars or more to purchase an entire CD which only contains one or two songs that the individual likes. With all of the MP3s that people have amassed over the few years that they’ve been extremely popular, it now presents somewhat of a dilemma when they want to play the MP3s they’ve collected in their car audio system. For those who have a standard in-dash CD player or CD changer, the only solution is to burn the MP3s onto a recordable CD and play the CD in the car. This solution can be both costly and time consuming if you are constantly updating your MP3 collection as you have to continuously buy blank CDs and go through the CD burning process each time you want to play a new collection of MP3s in your car. Thankfully there are several products on the market these days to give MP3 owners more options when it comes to playing their MP3s in the car.

GPS Tracking - Why you shouldn’t leave home without one!

GPS Tracking - Why you shouldn’t leave home without one!
 by: Beth Gabriel

What is GPS?

GPS stands for Global Positioning System. High above us, there are a group of 24 satellites orbiting the earth constantly providing information to tell us the map location (latitude and longitude) of a car or other vehicle. It also tells us how fast the vehicle is traveling and in what direction.

How is GPS Tracking Information Helpful?

• For parents, it takes some of the worry out of your kids driving long distances home from college. You know where they are and when to expect them home.

• For parents of teenagers, you never have to wonder if your son or daughter is where they say they are. No more late night phone calls asking - “Where are you?”

• For baby-boomers, the shoe is on the other foot - it helps to take some of the worry out of your elderly parents driving home from vacation or just driving around town. You know where they are and this allows them to be more independent.

Make Traveling A Lot Less Stressful With The Right Type Of Car GPS

Make Traveling A Lot Less Stressful With The Right Type Of Car GPS
 by: John Rivers

Navigating using maps can be very frustrating especially if you are doing so while driving your car. This becomes even stressful when you are driving all alone in a strange territory. Sometimes, however, having someone with you won’t help either, because more often than not, your companion would end up confusing you more than helping you navigate the road.

But traveling need not always be this difficult. It doesn’t even have to be stressful. If you think it is the map that is causing you your problems, then better get away with it and throw it outside your vehicle’s window. Instead, go get a new car GPS receiver and use it instead of the map.

Car GPS Devices

Simply said, a car GPS device is a GPS receiver especially designed for cars and their navigation systems. Like all other types of GPS receivers, car GPS devices can also receive signals from GPS satellites and can use the information carried by these signals to determine its current location. But because they are meant to be used on moving vehicles, they must be stuffed with features specific to vehicle navigations systems.

Catching the Jaguar XJ6
 by: Michelle Crimson

Making its public debut in September of 1968, the Jaguar XJ6 both stunned and amazed people. This was a different and unique kind of vehicle that the Ford Motor Company introduced and marketed under the Jaguar brand.

At first, this vehicle was a difficult one to catch. This was due to the manufacturer’s difficulty in keeping up with the demand for this vehicle. Even those people who are trying to ask for test drives for various different purposes had to go through a hard times and had encountered problems as with regards to this. The first series of the Jaguar XJ6 held either a 4,235 cc I6 DOHC engine or a 2,792 cc I6 DOHC engine. Given as an option was a four speed manual and a Borg Warner 3 speed automatic.
