Does GPS Vehicle Tracking Equate To ‘Big Brother?’

Does GPS Vehicle Tracking Equate To ‘Big Brother?’
 by: Ken Sink

When people ask about my business, I tell them, “My company offers GPS vehicle tracking systems.” Their response lets me know whether they are an employee or a business owner.

The first words out of the mouth of an employee is: “Sounds like ‘Big Brother’ to me.” Oh no, not ‘Big Brother!’ Visions of mind-controlled drones working like slaves come to mind and they quickly walk away.

‘Big Brother?’ What is wrong with a business monitoring their vehicles? Or making sure their employees are doing what they’re being paid to do? Who owns these vehicles, anyway? Does the owner have a right to know how they’re being used?

Now, don’t get me wrong. I believe employees should be trusted and treated as adults. But, if you’ve ever driven a rental vehicle differently than the car you own, then you understand how an employee may mistreat a company vehicle.

Take the speeding employee, for example. Employees who drive too fast waste your gasoline, wear out your vehicle prematurely and sooner or later, drive up your insurance rates.

Understanding the Rover Electrical System
 by: Carol Mitchel

Electricity has been something that everybody has been for as long as we could remember. Electricity has been assisting people with their daily activities and word as well as in their times of recreation and play. And if truth be told, the automotive industry also utilizes electricity so as to power their vehicles.

By stepping back into the past, the automotive industry used electricity to function only as the way to ignite the fuel found inside the engine. Come the late 1920s, the electric started then replaced the hand crank. The electric headlights overpowered and made obsolete the acetylene lamps. And the squeak of the hand-squeezed air horn has been defeated by the loud braying of the modern automobile’s electric horn. At present, an automobile requires an elaborate electrical system for its circuits so as to produce, store, and distribute all of the electricity that it needs for their operation and function.

Mazda Navajo: The Cheaper Twin
 by: Margaret Adams

Introduced in 1991 and sold only in the United States, the Mazda Navajo is a sport utility vehicle that sported two doors. It was made available as a four wheel drive. The Mazda Navajo has been crafted so as to target the market for sporty SUVs.

In essence, critics have commented that this vehicle is just a Ford Explorer with the brand name changed to Mazda. This vehicle has been offered in two trim levels which comprise of the base and the LX. The trivia is that the entire vehicle was bought from the Ford Motor Company by Mazda and Mazda just added in its own grille, tail lamps and some minor body trim. This makes things easier in differentiating the two mentioned vehicles, the Mazda Navajo has a different grille, different tail lights, as well as wheels because of that very reason. However, comparing the interior of the vehicles, both contained very much the same features except for the seat fabrics and the steering wheel hub which proved to be the only things setting these two vehicles apart.

Sprayed On Truck Bedliner | Pros and Cons
 by: James McDonald

If you own a pickup, then you most likely either have a bed liner or are considering installing one. One of the most popular choices is a sprayed on truck bedliner, and for good reason. They have several key advantages to the more standard heavy duty plastic or rubber bedliners, making them a great choice. However, there are some things to consider before spending your money on one. We’ve outlined some of the advantages below, and also mentioned a couple disadvantages that you need to be aware of.

First, let’s start with the pros of having a sprayed on bedliner:

1 - The biggest advantage is their excellent durability and resistance to scratches. You can drop just about anything on them without worrying about gouging or scratching the surface.

2 - Their non skid surface will prevent your cargo from moving around. This is a pretty big plus as well, since you don’t want things such as gas cans or breakables moving around.

MINI: Necessarily in Caps
 by: Shane Morgay

To distinguish the new MINI from the classic Mini, one would have to look at how it is written. In bold letters would be the new MINI, meanwhile the classic Mini would just have to take it the normal way. This MINI is a subsidiary of BMW and is also produced by that same subsidiary since 2001. In truth, this vehicle has been very much criticized over its poor space efficiency which as compared to the original Mini that held a quite larger size. However, this new MINI still has become quite very much faithful to the razor sharp handling characteristics that the original Minis held, as well as the unique styling style that the previous ones also sported.

Even if the MINI has had little advertising done, BMW still has been receiving tons of orders for this vehicle. And because of the large number of orders coming in, BMW has been suffering from a significant backlog of these. This new vehicle, MINI, has quite reached cult status the world over. Many people who own MINIs were constantly approached by strangers who were very much intrigued as to what that vehicle was, or also to recall the classic Minis. Even so, the new MINI has a following that could prove to be quite just as strong as its predecessors. And to top it all up, even despite all the criticisms that this vehicle has received, the MINI Cooper and the MINI Cooper S has been acclaimed as the North American Car of the Year award for the year 2003.

Choosing the Right Repair Shop…

Choosing the Right Repair Shop…
 by: Naum Levinson

With the cost of car repair going up, choosing the right repair shop is important than ever.

If you are paying a couple of hundreds of dollars to have your car repaired, you had better

be sure that every dollar you’ve spent was really needed to repair your car and wasn’t

just an inflated shop’s price or totally unneccessary repair.

Which shop is better? The dealership? A large repair shop? A small independent shop?

Each one has it’s positives and negatives…

Each one is under pressure to make money in order to survive…

The dealership has the latest diagnostic equipment and the factory trained technicians,

but the cost of labor, about $90 per hour, is not uncommon (not to mention the cost of parts…)

Large repair shop. Prices are better than at the dealership, but availability of latest

diagnostic equipment and factory trained technicians are in question…

Small repair shop. These shops simply can’t afford the investment needed to buy or

rent the expensive diagnostic equipment or expensive training.
