GMC Floor Liners—Latest Additions to Auto Parts Online’s Wide Array of Carpet Protectors
 by: Jenny McLane

Floor liners, just like floor mats, are protective accessories that protect vehicle carpets from spills, mud, snow and all other carpet hazards. Like floor mats, these components are made of either high-impact plastic or marine-grade carpet and can be removed easily for cleaning.

Auto Parts Online, one of the leading online auto parts suppliers in the U.S., has broadened their solutions for GMC carpet protection at the later part of this year. Aside from the usual GMC floor mats being offered on the online auto parts portal, the company has also added different types of GMC floor liners on their online catalog of parts.

Unlike floor mats, however, floor liners tend to provide a wider coverage of protection—something that off-road capable vehicles like the GMC trucks would need badly. Though thinner, floor liners are made denser and water-tight, preventing any carpet hazard from penetrating through them and damaging the carpet. Further, floor liners would often feature a taller outer rim, allowing them to contain spills, mud and water better.

Snow and Your Car
 by: Matthew C. Keegan

Welcome to Winter! Snow, ice, and cold can be especially challenging to the body and mind, as well as to important items in your life, including your car. Is your vehicle ready for winter? If not, there are some things you can do to help ensure that your car will start on cold mornings and survive even the nastiest winter weather.

Check under the hood. Make sure that your battery and all of its connections are clean and fastened; hoses and belts securely in place; your oil and oil filter changes up to date; your air filter clean; the radiator flushed and refilled; and your engine well tuned. One of the biggest contributors to a car not starting is the battery. If it is old and needs to be replaced, do it now before you take that long trip.

Look at the windshield. Besides obvious cracks in your windshield which you can have replaced, make certain that the wiper bay is free of debris. Ice and snow can freeze your wipers in place making them completely ineffective. Never pour hot water on a windshield to remove ice. You will remove ice all rightand crack the glass in the process!

Mercury A/C Condensers: Giving You a Cool Driving Experience
 by: Joe Thompson

Driving in your faithful Mercury during the summer months should prove to be a cool experience - that is if you’re AC condenser is working properly. However, if you do feel that amidst turning on your air-conditioner to its full capacity you still feel sweaty and hot, then you may want to check your AC condenser.

The Mercury AC condenser radiates heat of the refrigerant, which at most times is a Freon gas, passed to it by the AC compressor. The AC condenser cools the refrigerant and turns it to a liquid form. The engine fan would usually aid in the cooling of the refrigerant, albeit an additional condenser fan would still be needed. The liquid refrigerant would still be warm but it would not be as hot as the gas in the compressor. An expansion valve would then advance to transform the liquid refrigerant into a cold, gaseous form, so as to once again absorb the warm air inside your automobile.
