Logistics leads us to understand the uproar of aftermarket motorcycle parts. Here are the ways of its overwhelming support…

When we try to track the logistics of aftermarket motorcycle parts we can say that it is doing good. Different parts may mean different distribution strategies. Aftermarket spark plugs and filters, for instance are placed in several layers of distribution between producer and end user.

Aftermarket parts have high outourcing percentage. In fact, some companies are even supplying the European market. Some of these companies have centralized warehouses. Aside from that, they also provide emergency back up for vehicle-off-road (VOR) demands through airfreight. Negotiations and sales are made more accessible and effective because they are extending their facilities through agents. Nonetheless, some are relying on their franchised dealers for distribution, sale and delivery.

Delivery nowadays is more efficient than the past. A conclusion has been arrived at stating that we have faster deliveries because the broader range of stock. Another factor is the availability of back up and facilities to support it. The supply chain is maintained and bolstered. The delivery notes of aftermarket motorcycle parts is quite impressive.

Every aftermarket motorcycle parts manufacturer is battling with their competitors. They compete in different ranges. Some are improving the aftermarket’s quality in order to compete with the Original Equipment Manufacturer parts. Others are trying to slash the price down and are creating a cheaper version of aftermarket motorcycle parts.

There is an stigma attached to the minds of the motorcyclists. It is all about the presumed poor quality of the aftermarket motorcycle parts. This is definitely a misnomer. There are aftermarket motorcycle parts that can actually compete with the OEM’s quality. However, there are also those wh cannot topple its well-established identity. Nonetheless, what is important is the rider’s choice. Whether he choose aftermarket or not, the choice lies in his discretion alone. However, his choice must be guided by the knowledge, observation and experience. They should be reminded of how to choose the best choice.

Aftermarket motorcycle parts logistics are getting better and better. This is also brought about by independent aftermarket motorcycle repair shops. These shops recommend the use of aftermarket motorcycle parts. Consequently, this phase has proved a more profitable aftermarket sector. They are the ones who boost the sales of aftermarket parts without the need too much marketing.

The accumulated help coming from pools of experts from warehousing, transport, inventory, sale and logistics make the aftermarket market bigger, better and more effective!

The average driver isn’t aware that there are more stylish and advanced alternatives available to replace the OEM factory lights their vehicles came with. Thanks to the Aftermarket Accessory industry and products like euro tail lights and projector headlights we no longer have to put up with the dull “yellowish” headlights or generic “red & orange” tail lights we’re so used to. Aftermarket lighting will not only improve ones overall night driving experience but also offers a whole new look that can set a ride apart from all the rest. Most aftermarket lights are an easy install that can be done by almost anyone with a little mechanical knowledge and are manufactured to comply with current DOT/SAE standards making them a true “no hassle” upgrade.

Euro tail lights (also commonly referred to as clear tail lights, euro lights and altezza lights) are one of the most popular aftermarket lighting upgrades simply for their durability, ease of install and their ability to dramatically (and inexpensively) change the look of a vehicle. They are now available for most makes and models including; Acura Integra, Cadillac Escalade, Ford Escape, Ford Explorer, Chevy Malibu, Honda Accord, Chevy Colorado/Canyon and Toyota 4Runner.

Projector Headlights (also referred to as Halo Headlights or Angel Eyes) are lights that “project” therefore they are brighter and can project a beam in front of the vehicle farther than the factory headlights ever could. Diamond-Cut headlights are also bright but they offer a little more in the style department being that the inside of the light is carved somewhat like a diamond thereby offering the ability for the light to shine off multiple surfaces. Couple these headlights with aftermarket euro or LED (Light Emitting Diode) tail lights and you’ll really light up the night sky!

And unlike many modifications, with most aftermarket lighting, there is no cutting, painting or drilling involved. You basically unscrew and “pop” out the factory light and screw the aftermarket one in place. Most lights will utilize the existing factory bulbs but since the lens on an aftermarket light is clear the bulbs will appear much brighter and therefore are more visible offering increased safety while driving at night.

Thanks to innovative companies like In.ProCarWear, APC and TYC we now have thousands of quality replacement lighting products for vehicles to choose from including; euro tail lights, LED tail lights, projector and diamond-cut headlights, HID (High Intensity Discharge) lighting kits, fog lights, clear corner lenses, side marker lights, sealed beam headlights, front and rear bumper lights, over cab running lights, park lights, signal lights (the list goes on!) which are all designed for a safer, more stylish ride.

Aftermarket parts have gone a long way since its introduction to the riding world. In fact there are a lot of developments and innovations which resulted to the boost of its sales.

The result of its improvement and upgrading was the powerful influence that drove riders and drivers alike to purchase and use it in their bikes. However, one thing startled these purchasers. It is all about the claims against insurance companies. Another drawback though, is the spread out of phony and scrupulous companies.

Recently, a significant Illinois suit sprang. This suit is called the Avery lawsuit. It is a class suit which seeks to claim against a State Farm. Plaintiffs are suing for breach of contract and violations of the Illinois Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business Practices Act (CFA). They claim that State Farm did not honor its insurance contract to pay for parts of “like kind and quality” to restore the insured’s vehicle to “pre-loss condition”. The insureds are complaining that State Farm repaired their vehicles using a substandard replacement crash parts instead of original equipment manufacture (OEM) parts and positively misrepresented the quality of these replacement parts. They allege that said deception is made in order to save money at the insureds expense.

During trial, plaintiffs presented expert testimonies to affirm that aftermarket parts have been used. Said experts testified according to the parts appearance, fit, quality, function, durability and performance. According to the plaintiffs, it was not only the quality that is unsatisfactory but the promise of State Farm to replace the non-OEM part.

Also, it was made known in the trial that State Farm recommends the use of aftermarket parts in their repair. The insurer’s adjustors use a computer system programmed to select the available and least expensive aftermarket part. It was also made known that State Farm’s employees, executives, associates and ‘special customers’ were exempted from these practice and their vehicles are repaired with OEM and not aftermarket parts.

The jury awarded almost $500,000 million to indemnify the insured class. In addition, the judge ordered State Farm to disgorge $130 million in savings realized by mandating the use of non-OEM parts and awarded plaintiffs $600 million in punitive damages.

On appeal, however, the Court reversed the award to disgorge the $130 million in savings and upheld the remainder of the decision.

This decision has its stigma. It will definitely affect the aftermarket industry. It is an influencing factor that can redound to aftermarket parts boom or downfall.

by: Reggie Andersen

On which side of the road do you drive? Depends if you’re a Brit or an American.

If we go back far enough, some two thousand years ago, to the time when the Romans occupied Britain, we’ll find a clue about driving habits back then. Archaeologists have unearthed a well-preserved track leading to a Roman quarry near Swindon, England. The ruts in the road on one side are much deeper than those on the other side, as would be the case if their carts were going IN empty and coming OUT with heavy materials such as stones. The ruts suggest that, at least in Swindon, the Romans drove on the left.

In fact, some believe that ancient travelers on horseback rode, for the most part, on the left side. Why? Because since most people are right-handed, horsemen would be able to hold their reins with their left hand and keep their right hand free - to offer in friendly greeting to a passing rider or to defend themselves with a sword if that need arose.

A Change to the Right

In the late 1700’s, a shift from left to right occurred in the United States, when teamsters started using large cargo wagons pulled by several pairs of horses. Since these wagons had no driver’s seat, the driver sat on the left rear horse holding his whip with his right hand. Seated on the left, the driver naturally preferred that other wagons pass him on the left so that he could be sure to keep clear of the wheels of any oncoming traffic. That was accomplished by driving on the right side.

The English, however, kept to the standard of left side driving. They had smaller wagons and the driver sat on the wagon, not on the horses as in the States, usually on the right side of the front seat. From there he could easily use his long whip in his right hand without entangling it in any cargo packed behind him. In that position, on the right side of the wagon, the driver could judge the safety margin of passing traffic by keeping to the left side.

Countries that became part of the British Empire adopted the keep-left rule too, although there were some exceptions such as Canada which eventually changed from left to right to accommodate easier facilitation of border crossings to and from the United States.

Political events in France had a large effect on citizens’ driving habits. Before the Revolution of 1789, the aristocracy drove their carriages along the left side of the roads, forcing the peasants to move to the opposite side. But once the Revolution started, these nobles desperately tried to hide their identity by walking (or occasionally riding) on the right side like other peasants.

By 1794 the French government had introduced a keep-right rule in Paris, which later spread to other regions Napoleon I conquered throughout much of continental Europe. It’s no wonder Napoleon favored keep-right driving, as he was left-handed and his armies had to march on the right so he could keep his sword arm between him and any who dared approach him aggressively.

In Europe, countries that resisted Napoleon kept to the left and eventually Russia and Portugal made the switch from left to the right early in the 20th century. Austria and Czechoslovakia changed also when occupied by Nazi Germany at the end of the 1930’s, and Hungary followed suit. Today just four European countries still drive on the left side including Britain, Ireland, Cyprus and Malta. Japan also drives on the left, though never considered a British colony.

A truck is a common vehicle choice for men and women of all ages. A truck is often purchased for convenience. Many individuals will need a truck to move or transport large items that will not fit into a traditional car.

The need for trucks is increasing and they are highly popular among many consumers. The prices of all vehicles, including trucks, have been on the rise. Purchasing a truck, for personal or work use, is a fairly large investment. To protect that investment many truck owners are using a truck bed liner to protect their asset. It is a known fact that the better a used vehicle is, the more money will be obtained later on from a trade in.

Truck bed liners can come in a wide variety of different styles and options. A truck bed liner can be a drop in model that is specifically designed for specific truck makes and models. The drop in style truck bed liner is nice because they can be removed and reinstalled whenever needed. These models are often plastic.

Although the previously mentioned truck bed liner is a popular choice, the most common form of truck liners used today is are spray on. Just like the name, a spray on truck bed liner is sprayed on the bed of the truck and it literally comes a part of the truck. A spray on truck bed liner can be installed personally or by a professional.

A spray on truck bed liner can typically be finished in less than one day. The majority of individuals will choose to a have a professional install their bed liner. There are supplies and the option to prepare the bed liner yourself, but it is somewhat difficult to do. Many professionals have a system already down. This allows them to produce quality work in a little bit of time. Many professional truck bed liners can be installed in around two or three hours. Another benefit to having a spray on truck bed liner professional done is that their work is often guaranteed or insured. This would come in handy if a mistake was made or damaged occurred to the truck during the procedure.

Each brand of a spray on truck bed liner will be different and may contain different chemicals. The majority of all spray on bed liners will be strong and durable. Just like a traditional truck bed liner, a spray on liner will protect trucks from a wide variety of scrapes, scratches, and other debris marks. A spray on truck bed liner is popular among construction workers, farmers, and everyday individuals.

Spray on truck bed liners can come in a wide variety of different colors to go with any truck or owner preference. It is important to remember that although spray on truck bed liners are popular, there are still other bed liner options available. Protecting your truck is an easy and convenient way to ensure itís value will not decrease more than it should.

6 Things You Need to Know to Find Perfect Corporate Entertainment
by: David Tapley

The wrong entertainment can ruin an event and, worse yet, project the wrong image about your organization. The right entertainment creates a positive buzz among participants and a favorable impression about your company or non-profit.

How do you tell right from wrong when booking entertainment? The more you know - both about your event and the talent available - the better off you will be.

1. Know your objective.

What do you want your event to say about your organization? Do you want to come across as cutting-edge and daring, or is a more conservative image more appropriate? Choose entertainment that reflects the right image for your company.

2. Know your budget.

Entertainment can run as little as $500 for a local act, to well over $1 million for nationally-known talent. Don’t waste time pursuing entertainment that you can’t afford. Set a budget to narrow your choices.

3. Know your audience.

Is your audience young, older or a combination? Is it mostly men or women? Will couples be attending, or will you be hosting a crowd of co-workers? Do you want to book an act that will encourage dancing? Will people be relaxed and in a partying mood, or will they be more sedate and professional? If you understand your audience demographics and mindset, you can avoid booking entertainment that might annoy, offend or even bore participants.

4. Know your theme.

A 50’s sock hop or a disco ball can be a lot of fun, but your audience may not want to listen to 50’s music or disco for the entire night. Pick an event theme that is broad enough to accommodate entertainment that appeals to a wide range of tastes. Use décor to create your theme. Better yet, select the perfect entertainment first and build a theme around it.

5. Know your production costs.

You may be able to afford the talent, but can you afford the cost to produce the show? Many people overlook or may not be made aware of additional expenses associated with lighting, sound system rentals, union regulations, insurance, overtime fees, and stages when they book an act. Make sure you know all your production costs and budget accordingly.

6. Know when to hire a pro.

A talent agency is often the fastest - and most economical - source for entertainment for an event. A talent agency can quickly connect you to the best acts in the business and help you choose entertainment that will be right for your event. Talent agencies with experience booking national acts have the expertise necessary to negotiate contracts and, even more importantly, hospitality and performance riders. They can make sure you don’t end up paying for non-essential or duplicated expenses. Talent pros can also clue you in to hot entertainment trends or less expensive routing dates on a specialty act that might turn your function into the “event of the year.”

As a society, we have all been well versed on the negative health impact on our children from second hand smoke. Many parents have become proactive and either kicked the “habit” or elected not to smoke in their homes and/or vehicles.

A society, priding ourselves on protecting innocent children, we’ve even enacted laws requiring seatbelts, toddler seats, and infant seats to optimize their safety.

We’ve resoundingly said “No” to cigarette smoke and “No” to traveling without seatbelts. Yet ironically, we’ve obliviously accepted “YES” when it comes to exposing our precious cargo to the deadly effects of exhaust emissions.

It’s like going all out taking precautions to protect our children against chicken pox, but apathetic when exposing them to small pox.

Children 6 and under, including unborn fetuses, are especially susceptible to toxic exhaust emissions.

Daily our children inhale poisonous substances into their little lungs - toxic entities with devastating long term and/or immediate life-threatening affects.

While we happily motor down the highway, children safely secured by seatbelts, along with millions of other drivers, we are spewing into the environment deadly emissions via the process of burning gas, bio-diesel, or diesel in our engines:

·	Toxic gases known as carbon monoxide

·	Poisonous nitrogen oxides, a main source of urban smog

·	Lethal unburned hydrocarbons, a main source of urban ozone

How toxic is carbon monoxide to our children?

The U.S. alone releases approximately 2 billion pounds of carbon into the environment each day, which converts into massive amounts of invisible carbon monoxide gas as our engines consume gas, bio-diesel, or diesel fuel.

When we breathe carbon monoxide, the carbon molecules attach to our hemoglobin, denying release of oxygen to lungs and other tissues in our body. With excessive exposure, such as idling in traffic, our blood loses its ability to transport oxygen, thus inevitable death by suffocation, especially in younger children.

How lethal is smog and ozone to our children?

Nitrogen oxides and unburned hydrocarbons, main sources for smog and “unfriendly” ozone at ground level, is caused by the reaction between engine exhaust and light.

Smog and ozone instigate inflammation and abnormal accumulation of fluid in our lungs, and aggravates the effects of asthma and other respiratory problems. Repeated exposure further desecrates our lungs, making it more difficult to breathe, and our bodies increasingly labor to extract oxygen. Younger children are more susceptible and thus at greater risk.

But how can we, as loving and caring parents, protect our children from these toxic pollutants?

The good news is that there is a product available. It’s a small pill, the size of a penny, we can simply pop into the tank each time we fuel up. Independent tests showed that this little pill:

·	Reduced toxic carbon monoxide emissions by 78%

·	Reduced poisonous nitrogen oxides by 73% (main source of urban smog)

·	Reduced lethal unburned hydrocarbons by 24% (main source of urban ozone)

Known as the UBiee Power Pill, 100% guarantees to reduce toxic emissions, and our pocketbooks will experience an added benefit of increased fuel economy and reduced maintenance costs - an instant remedy to further help protect and save our children’s lives.

It costs a lot to get car insurance. No one would argue on that. Without one it would cost you more to drive if you had an accident. Still, you don’t want to pay too much for it. So how can you save money on your car insurance premium?

Check several insurance companies. Don’t fall for the headline that says they got the best insurance deal in town. Find out for yourself by shopping around. It would be to your advantage to compare at least 3 quotes.

Find out how the prospective company is doing financially. Does the company have any complaints against them? What is their reputation for customer service? A good indicator of this could be seen on your initial visit. For example, did they take time to answer your questions or did they try to cut you off fast? Taking note of these things could save you some regrets later on.

Check insurance costs for the car you intend to buy. Your premium will be based on the particular cars sticker price, repair expenses, overall safety record, as well as potential theft possibility. Consider features that reduce the risk of injury or theft, such as daytime running lights or anti-theft equipment. Because the car insurance company may offer you premium discounts for a car with those features.

Consider paying a higher deductible. It may sound odd. But if you increase your deductible from $300 to say, $500, the cost of your collision and comprehensive coverage would be reduced anywhere from 15 to 30 percent. A $1000 deductible would save you even more, perhaps more than 40 percent.

Reduce coverage on your older car. The rule of thumb is to multiply your premium by 10. If your car is worth less than that total, think about dropping collision and comprehensive. You can check your cars value online at www.kbb.com.

Insure your home and car at the same company; you may get a reduction in your premium. And if you have more than one car, that may also get you a reduction. Don’t be afraid to shop around.

If you drive far less miles than the average driver, ask about Low Mileage Discounts. The car insurance company may offer you for low-mileage discounts.

Other discounts may also be available. If you have no accidents or moving violations for a number of years, you can get a discount. A defensive driving course may also win you a discount.

Remove unnecessary items from your policy. Many lenders will attach items like roadside help to your loan package. This is a good thing, but most car insurance companies already offer this on a full coverage policy. You need full coverage when financing a new car.

As you can see, there are quite a few options for getting that premium down.

A final word; what works for you over the next few years may not work later, depending on your situation. Don’t be afraid to be an alert consumer and reconsider your needs on occasion.

Anyone Can Clean Their Car, But What About Those Cloudy, Yellow Headlights?
by: David Maillie

It is a very common occurence. We see then every day. Its like a disease - yellow, cloudy headlight lenses. I even saw them on cars at the local carwash. It befuddled me that these people would take such great care - washing, vacuuming the interior, removing the floor mats and even hand drying their cars, but they still had those yellowed, cloudy headlights. Its not just a problem on old, very used cars. It is prevalent on 2 - 3 year old cars also. It doesn’t matter if it is a Dodge, Ford, Mercedes, or a Porsche.

When questioned, most said they couldn’t afford, or didn’t want to pay the high prices of replacements from their local auto dealer. The average price for a pair of replacement plastic headlights at local auto dealerships was around $450 - that didn’t even include installation and alignment (that would be another $60-120). Aftermarket headlights do exist, but have received mixed reviews, and the savings aren’t that great, quality and fit is lagging, and then you still had to have them installed and aligned. And for what so you can do it again in another year or two?

There is another solution, there is a patented headlight cleaner and restorer kit. Its under $20, much less expensive than replacement lenses, and it works!

Plastic headlight lenses are the norm in the automotive industry now - every car has them. Some have fancy names like plexan and Lexan, but they all have the same problems. The sun, acid rain, harsh weather conditions, chemicals (brake fluid, power steering fluid, hot radiator fluids, hot water, harsh cleaners, etc…) will all cause the plastic lenses to degrade and weaken quickly. Some manufacturers have gone to including a protective film on the lenses. Regardless, they are all susceptible to this weakening and yellowing over time.

With this headlight cleaner and restorer even junk yard car lenses have been restored to brand new. These same lenses used to be discarded and now have become new profit centers for salvage yards all over. The treatment is applied to the exterior of the headlight lens where the damage is worst and it doesn’t take a mechanic to do it.

It is easy to do, doesn’t take very long, and the results are fantastic. So there is a very economic solution to the problem of yellow, cloudy, worn headlights. There’s no excuse now to not have sparkling clean headlights. Car dealerships everywhere are using headlight cleaner and restorer on their cars and you can too.
